Music
We are a group of multi-talented professional musicians. Our membership includes well-known performers, composers, public and private music educators, university professors, and active church musicians of all faiths. If you are a Mu Phi from any collegiate or alumni chapter, we welcome you. If you are a professional musician and have not previously been initiated into any music fraternity, we invite you to join us. We offer a community where collegiality and mutual support are valued, creative ideas are freely exchanged, and career networking is encouraged. Friendship
Among the many positive powers of Music is the ability to foster co-operation, collaboration, and Friendship. Mu Phi Epsilon membership, lasting for many from early college days until retirement and beyond, creates life-long connections. Our commonly held purpose of sharing our musical talents with each other leading to the ultimate goal of serving our community through music, has for more than 100 years had a very positive impact on each of our individual members, and upon countless numbers of students, audience members, church congregations, worthy civic organizations, and our city as a whole. Harmony
Our Los Angeles Alumni Chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon constantly seeks to speak the universal language of Music not only to nurture Friendship, but most importantly to create and sustain Harmony within our local communities, statewide, nationally and internationally as well. We present free, high quality musical performances to the public and are currently involved in fund-raising efforts that result in the yearly awarding of music scholarships to worthy musicians of the future.
